Barcelona ace Lionel Messi is using his contract stand-off to demand the
signing of PSG winger Angel di Maria,it has been revealed.
Diario Sport says Messi is demanding Barca sign his Argentina teammate this week.The Catalans have focused on prising Philippe Coutinho away fromLiverpool, though have also spoken toPSGabout Di Maria. However, Messi is calling on the club to focus their energies on signing Di Maria before Thursday's deadline.
Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu knows Messi is frustrated with their work in the transfer market and is ready to push to sign Di Maria to appease their superstar.
Bartomeu hopes by landing his good friend, it will convince Messi to finally sign his contract - over two months after agreeing terms.
