Matic talks Chelsea exit

10:36: Nemanja Matic has shed light on the reason why he left Chelsea for Manchester United.
"He [Mourinho] was very important for me," Matic told Sky Sports.
"He bought me to Chelsea from Benfica and now when I decided to come to Manchester, he was a reason to come here.
"Mourinho was the reason and so was the club, Manchester United, so you don't need to think a lot about if you are going to come. My decision was very quick and very clear."

Gabi offers Costa advice

09:52: Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has advised Diego Costa to respect Chelsea over his transfer stand-off.
Costa is currently AWOL in Brazil and wants to join Atletico.
Chelsea are prepared to sell but have also demanded the striker return to training in west London.
Gabi said: “From what I understand, Atletico Madrid want to sign him and he wants to join.
“However, we must know that there is Chelsea in the middle and when you are part of a club you must respect the badge and try and leave in the best way.”

08:11: Chelsea striker Diego Costa will remain in Brazil this weekend and watch a local league match as the Blues prepare to face Tottenham.
Costa has been told he can leave Chelsea but has been ordered back to training until a deal is done.
The 28-year-old has not reported back to the club and is currently in his native Brazil.
And Brazilian outlet Globoesporte claim the former Atletico Madrid star will attend a match between Dragao and Azulao do Mutange in Aracaju on Saturday.
Chelsea face Spurs at Wembley on Sunday (4pm).

07:23: Chelsea are ready to fine Diego Costa a whopping £3m if he continues to stay away from training.
Chelsea have already fined the striker £300,000 for his absence this summer.
The club want him back training even though they’ve told him he will be sold in this transfer window.

06:30: Martin Keown has told Antonio Conte to take control of the situation surrounding Diego Costa.

The Spain international is on a self-imposed exodus from Chelsea in an attempts to force through a move to Atletico.
But Arsenal legend Keown believes Costa’s transfer saga is beginning to have a negative effect on Chelsea.
“Nothing could go wrong for Antonio Conte last season. Now, in the space of a summer, everything is going wrong for him,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“Conte needs to have a good look at himself and take charge of the situation.”

Costa on the cheap

Chelsea value the 29-year-old at £50m but, according to The Sun, Atletico are only willing to pay £30m.

It is reported he could head on loan to Deportivo La Coruna until January.
